About the Design:

Ashley Zilmer, Stable Manager and Co-Owner, created and designed the layout of SaddleBack Equestrian. Over 25 years ago she started out riding and boarding her horses at self-care facilities and learned how demanding caring for these special animals could be. During this time she also had the opportunity as a working student at a top-notch equestrian farm exchanging lessons for barn chores and exercise rides. Ashley showed competitively during her teen years winning year-end awards and championships.

In recent years, Ashley boarded at full-care facilities experiencing many of the qualities she would want in her own barn. Combining her previous experiences at other stables, SaddleBack was created -- a facility providing high quality personalized care and training that encourages the joy of riding or showing your horse.

Ashley’s BBA/Bachelor’s of Business Degree and business experiences in both the corporate and association sectors ensures efficient stable management. She currently handles all business aspects of SaddleBack as well as caring for all of you and your horse’s needs. She knows what it takes and is willing to get her hands dirty to make sure it gets done. Ashley still continues to show and has her own horses stabling at SaddleBack. Her husband, Mike, is a crucial part overseeing the condition of the arenas, ensuring immaculate grounds and working on projects to continue to improve the facility for your enjoyment and use. Saddleback Equestrian:

LaurenDouble Shot Expresso (aka Mocha) has been at SaddleBack since late summer 2009, and he loves it!  The owners (Ashley & Mike) make sure everything is always organized, the grounds are immaculate, and that the footing in the arenas are fantastic.   The location is great (right off the Creek) and I can ride on weekends when I’m home from OU.  I’m looking forward to winter and summer vacations from college so I can hang out at the barn more often.  The move to SaddleBack was the best thing we could have done for Mocha.  His personality has really blossomed with all the constant activity of the kids, lessons and his new horse friends.  I’m so happy to have found a place that I trust with my best friend! —Lauren

JacqueRiding and boarding at SaddleBack is amazing! Ashley, Mike and the Melissa are awesome. Melissa is the best trainer anyone could ask for--not only is she super nice, but she is always in the arena right there beside you. She’s very patient and does everything she can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable riding experience. Ashley and Mike keep the horses and facilities in great condition. They are always willing to go above and beyond to make everyone happy, and I couldn't ask for anything more. They are the greatest! Whether you're boarding, leasing, or just taking lessons...Saddleback is the place you want to be! —Jacque

HopeI love having my horse, Monty at SaddleBack because of the comfortable, friendly atmosphere there. There are always other people out there to talk to or ride with, which makes me feel comfortable and safe. I also love knowing that Monty is getting the best care possible and I know he is very happy at SaddleBack too! —Hope

AllisonThere are so many wonderful things about SaddleBack Equestrian—I don’t know where to start! I’m a college student and don’t have the means to buy and keep my own horse—and they have a selection of fabulous lesson horses that I’ve fallen in love with. Ashley is so kind and flexible to work with! I‘ve made a handful of friends that I’m very close to, and I love the friendly and relaxed atmosphere--makes me feel right at home! —Allison
